About our release forms

Dear customers,

We are asking you to read and sign the release forms before you join us on a trip. Signing this form is a must before joining any Tatshenshini Expediting LTD trips or courses.

The release form is an acknowledgement of risks. Like anything you do in life, from being a couch potato to driving a car, they are certain risks involved.

The release form also includes the word “negligence”. We do not wish to be negligent but we need to address the facts of “human error”, “misjudgments”, or the belief by some that our activities are careless.

Some risks are inherent to the activities, such risks and not all of them are listed in the release form. For those risks which are inherent to the activities, the clients/guests of Tatshenshini Expediting LTD must provide their own insurance and release Tatshenshini Expediting, its guides and representatives harmless from any and all liability.

Since 1983, Tatshenshini Expediting LTD has never been sued, has never had an insurance claim, and never has had an evacuation. Since 1983 our incident reports include a couple of shoulder dislocations, one fractured ankle, a few emotional traumas and some bruising.

The reality, statistically proven, is that rafting and hiking are a lot safer than driving or fishing. Our exceptional safety record is due to the time we spend educating our guests and the training of our guides.

A release form is part of educating our guests to make them clearly understand the risks of any trips.
